This was shot in early summer while I was teaching a workshop. And this was, without a doubt, the best light I’ve ever had while shooting along the PNW coast line. Things were looking pretty good from about 90 minutes prior to sunset and they just kept getting better and better. In fact, I was lucky enough to capture a few different comps, all on the same day! For those of you who like to fetishize camera settings and processing steps, etc. This is a single exposure, double processed to work with different dynamic range areas and / or to bring out artistic vision.

This is a shot from last year while visiting the Mayan Riviera. For those who care about details and stuff... This is a two shot blend. One for the foreground foliage and ruins: 1/160 sec. f/13, ISO 800, 17mm. And a second shot for the sky 90 minutes later: 10 sec, f/2.8, ISO 1600, 17mm.
